The International School of Performing Arts (ISPA) is a tertiary musical theatre academy dedicated to comprehensively training talented school leavers in all aspects of performing arts, including dancing, singing and on-stage and screen acting.

ISPA Qualifications


The ISPA offers students the opportunity of completing 1, 2 &/or 3 Year International Diplomas in Musical Theatre and Performance Arts.


The 2 year diploma meets the criteria of a Bachelor of Arts Undergraduate Degree in Musical Theatre and Performance Arts - an International Level 6 qualification by Trinity College of London and regulated by OFQUAL, The Office of Qualifications and Examination Regulation.







Classes @ ISPA

Dance


Daily dance classes comprising of different styles -

ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, tap & body conditioning.


Students will improve their dance skills and muscle memory as well as develop the confidence to create and choreograph their own work

VOCALS

Vocal classes (group classes and individual tutorials) develop and strengthen the singing voice by incorporating various breathing and singing techniques.

Focusing on performance and bringing songs to life, students will discover how to connect to the emotion and meaning of the music

as a way of performing and communicating by working on solo, choral and harmony work.

Vocal classes aim to strengthen students music theory and application (sight singing).





Drama

Drama classes focus on developing the essential tools every actor needs - voice projection, articulation, text analysis, characterisation and improvisation.


Using various drama methodologies and techniques, group classes and individual tutorials aim to develop students abilities to create and perform believable characters (on stage as well as on screen).

Education & Certification


All graduates of the International School of Performing Arts will leave with extensive

triple-threat training and theoretical knowledge of musical theatre. By receiving our

internationally recognised diplomas, our students will be sought-after in the performing

arts industry in Durban, South Africa and beyond.


Our business mentoring will also aid our students in seeking and securing casting opportunities

on stage and screen as well as producing their own creative work.


Our Qualifications


ISPA offers one, two and three year diplomas in Musical Theatre/Performance Arts.
